About Salad Burnet

Salad burnet is a low perennial with cucumber-flavored leaflets. Neat in a salad or a pot. About 12 inches tall, not “a foot taller” than something unnamed.

When to Plant

Direct-sow in early spring or fall. Zones 4–8.

How to Plant

Sow ¼ inch deep. Thin to 8–12 inches. Full sun to part shade, well-drained soil. Shear to prevent flowering if you want leaves.

When to Harvest

Harvest young leaves in 6–8 weeks. Older leaves toughen. Best fresh; drying loses the cucumber note.
