How to Grow Organic Wormwood from Seed

About Wormwood
Wormwood is a silvery perennial grown as an ornamental and a traditional moth-and-pest companion — not a culinary herb. It contains thujone and is toxic if misused. Keep it away from pregnant people, pets, and salad beds.
When to Plant
Surface-sow indoors in late winter, or sow outdoors after last frost. Do not do both at once on the same seed tray, and do not sow “in winter after frost” — pick one: indoor late winter, or outdoor after frost.
How to Plant
Seed needs light — do not cover with compost. Transplant 36–48 inches apart (not 18–20). Full sun, lean dry soil. Drought-tough once established.
When to Harvest
Leaves are stronger in year 2. Cut small amounts with gloves if you have a traditional external use. Do not take internally without professional guidance. Do not apply the essential oil undiluted. 65 days from seed is foliage only, not “full mature.”
